Google Chrome 26 now available!
Google Chrome 26 was released a few days back and I should say, that was quick! Chrome 25 was recently released and now comes Chrome 26 which brings in a cool new feature into the browser. I cannot remember what version of Chrome it was that came with multiple-user accounts/profiles but this version of the browser now allows you to create desktop shortcuts (on Windows) for these profiles. Quite neat since on my system there are like 4 profiles on my Chrome and the browser (before this update) opens up to the recently used profile (there seemed to be no setting or an option where you can make one profile as the default and whenever you run Chrome it's that profile that opens first).

Sony Xperia SP
Sorry if I posted this way too late but anyway, this is the second of the two Xperia smartphones that Sony Mobile announced. Together with the Xperia L, the Xperia SP is clearly the higher-end of the two. You will see that when I list down the device's specs. Both of these devices will be available globally in Q2 of 2013.

Sony Xperia L
Sony has announced two new smartphones that are targeted for those who wants a quality smartphone but does not require them to shell out that much cash like those high-end android devices. The first, or probably the cheaper of the two, is the Sony Xperia L. Just like Sony Mobile's 2012 line of Xperia phone, the 2013 phones, apparently, follow the Xperia Z's design aesthetics. Anyway, the Xperia L runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean right out of the box and will sports Sony's Exmor RS sensor. The Japanese company is scheduled to launch the device in Q2 of 2013.

PHIL: The BlackBerry Z10 to be available in March 19
Announced to the world back in February, the Blackberry Z10 will be available in the Philippines come March 19. The country's two major carriers, Smart and Globe, will both carry the said device. Globe is offering the Z10 for free at plan 1799. This is much more affordable than that of Smart's but the thing is that Globe will lock you up on that plan for 30months. You can also get the device at plan 1799 with 24months lock up commitment but that'd require you to shell out Php 4,800. Anyway, you can head over to Globe's application form (online) for the BB Z10.

Sony Mobile releases Android 4.1.2 update to the Sony Xperia J
Sony is one of those phonemakers that has promised a lot when it comes to software updates to their 2013 devices. This is one of them. The Sony Xperia J has started receiving the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update that Sony has promised. The Xperia T, Xperia V, and the Xperia TL are said to have also gotten this upate already. The update should be available OTA but I do not have any idea which part of the world this update has been pushed. Anyway, for those who own an Xperia J, you may want to manually check you device for software updates via the phone it self or via Sony's PC Companion.

MWC 2013: Alcatel One Touch Snap
Aside from announcing the Alcatel One Touc Idol X, specs-wise the apparent Android flagship device, Alcatel has announced the One Touch Snap. It comes with LTE connectivity, well a version of it which is rightfully named as the One Touch Snap LTE. The LTE version runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean while the non-LTE runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. Both though is equipped with a quad-core processor but of different names.

MWC 2013: ZTE One Touch Idol X
Here's another phablet joining in the fun! Announced at MWC 2013, the Alcatel One Touch Idol X is a 5-incher device that runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and sports a unnamed quad-core processor. Just like the device it tries to kill, the Galaxy Note II, the One Touch Idol X also has its own stylus. As for what the capabilities of that stylus are, that I still have to know. One thing is for sure, the devices boasts "dedicated creative apps" and I know you know what that means. In terms of the device's design, it's nice. I don't want to say this but it kind of looks like an HTC Butterfly.

MWC 2013: ZTE Grand Memo
ZTE has officially unveiled their own phablet (I think this ain't their first) at MWC 2013, the ZTE Grand Memo. The device is on display at their booth back in MWC 2013 but as for its full detailed specs? Everybody seems to be unsure about it. Anyway, the device is expected to be launched in Q2 of 2013. The phablet runs on Android 4.1 and sports a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 or the 800 CPU. As for its display, the phablet is huge having a 5.7" 720p display.

MWC 2013: Sony Xperia Tablet Z
Sony announced, probably the sexiest tablet ever, at MWC 2013 the Sony Xperia Tablet Z. This tablet follows the aesthetics of their Xperia Z smartphone, which I think is great because you know a phonemaker and a tablet maker should have that "line" of devices that actually looks a like and would work great with each other. The Xperia Tablet Z is being tagged by Sony as the world's slimmest and lightest Android tablet you can ever find. Well it definitely looks like it is. The device is expected to be launched globally in Q2 of 2013.

MWC 2013: Asus FonePad
Aside from HTC announcing their Galaxy Note killer, Asus at MWC 2013 also introduced their's. Dubbed as the Asus FonePad, rightfully, is almost the biggest smartphone their is (the Galaxy Note 8 is still bigger). The FonePad sports a 7" display and has all the things your phone can do and even more. There was no exact date when it will become available anywhere but at least the Taiwanese-based tech company said it will be available starting March of 2013.

MWC 2013: Asus PadFone Infinity
Asus is once again right there with their Padfone, this time it comes with a 5-incher smartphone with a bigger screen resolution and a bigger cpu. The Asus PadFone Infinity, announced at MWC 2013, looks like and works just like the PadFone 2 but has, personally, a better design. Anyway, the PadFone Infinity sports Qualcomm's Snapdragon 600 processor, LTE, and runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. The device is expected to be available in Taiwan by April and to other countries in the Q2 od 2013.

MWC 2013: LG Optimus L II Series
LG has unveiled the successor to their L Series line of devices at MWC 2013. Conveniently named as the L II Series, these smartphones all run on Android and sports different screen sizes from the L3 II, L5 II, and the L7 II. The L3 II was already launched in Brazil via a presser from LG while the other two devices is still yet to see an official launching.

LG has announced, at MWC 2013, their Galaxy Note II counterpart. Dubbed as the LG Optimus G Pro, the device has the screen size as that of the Note II, at 5.5" but at a higher screen resolution. The Optimus G Pro runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and has features like that of Samsung's Multi-Window, albeit their's is only an overlapping app on top of the other. Anyway, check out the specs of the device and an introductory video of it by LG.

MWC 2013: Mozilla introduces Firefox OS
So, finally, Mozilla has announced their very own mobile OS dubbed as the Firefox OS. This, together with Ubuntu will make the smartphone world more wonderful for consumers. Wonderful because competition keeps everything in check. Anyway, the first smartphones to sport the said OS from Mozilla will be ZTE's Open (photo above) and Alcatel's OneTouch Fire (photo below). I have specs for the ZTE device but nothing from the Alcatel. You can check out The Verge's hands on video of these two device and check out the OS itself.
