Pantech has announced a Galaxy Note II challenger by the name of the Pantech Vega R3. The Vega R3, succeeds over the Vega S5 which is a 5.3" smartphone and runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, Yonhap News reports. The phablet will be available in South Korea soon via all the major carriers in the country. No word yet about the device's global launching though. Pantech says that the Vega R3 is the best quad-core device ever.
For its specs, the 5.3" display is HD, sports a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064 quad-core processor, 4G LTE, 2GB of RAM, 16GB internal storage, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, a 13MP rear facing camera, a 2MP front, and a 2600 mAh battery.
With those specs, the Vega R3 is a serious contender to the Galaxy Note 2.
