Opera released an update to two of their Android browsers. Opera Mini for Android 6.5 and Opera Mobile for Android 11.5 are both updated to bring in Data Usage information available. This, apparently, now allows you to check how much data the browser has been using when you browser the web on your Android device. So how would you be able to see these information? Opera made a dedicated page for it so you can easily access this information right from your Opera browser on your Android smartphone.
"To get these savings, Opera Mini and Opera Mobile use cloud-assisted browsing, which reduces the size of webpages by up to 90%. It means you get a faster, cheaper, and better web experience… all for free! In a delicious quote, Lars Boilesen, Opera CEO states that “If the really slow network you are on is butter, Opera Mini is a hot knife”. It really is true, and Opera Mini has often come to my rescue, greasing the gears when the network grinds to a halt.
Opera Mini 6.5 and Opera Mobile 11.5 have a few more tricks up their sleeves. Better integration with Android, with new features such as bookmark importing and direct shortcuts. Opera Mobile also gets inline video for Honeycomb, an updated Presto rendering engine, better network performance, more HTML5 support, and less memory usage." - Opera
You can now download the latest version of Opera Mini for Android and Opera Mobile for Android from the Android Market (click links to be directed to the Android Market).
