Bad news! LG said, in response to a question posted on their Facebook Page, that the world's first dual-core smartphone is not getting some Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The LG Optimus 2X, when Android ICS was announced, was one of those Androids I thought would get the latest version of the OS, but then LG said it won't. This is bad news, because, everyone knows the device can handle Android 4.0 and it deserves that dessert.
I hope, LG will not pursue what they have said on Facebook. I hope they will push Android 4.0 to the Optimus 2X and to other LG phones for that matter. This is not good for the Korean company.

Update: This is certainly good news. LG have responded to that statement that it has made on the comment on their Facebook Page. Well, the comment that LG posted in response to the question actually has some hope that came with it. At the last part of the comment it went like this "Keep watching this space for further updates" and indeed LG responded saying that they are currently testing the Android 4.0 ICS on their devices and might be pushing the said version of Android to their Optimus line of device which will, definitely, include the LG Optimus 2X.
According to LG, the pushing of the update will depend on how the platform will work with the devices and the user experience on them. So, for those who use the Optimus 2X, there is still hope for some Ice Cream Sandwich love out there.
