Starting today, T-Mobile USA's HTC Sensation 4G is officially getting the Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread update. As with any updates, the 2.3.4 update brings in a lot of performance enhancement and fixes here and there. The update will be done OTA so your phones should get a notification when the it arrives to you.

Ill be taking a snippet from Android Community on what you should expect from the update.

New Features
-Software stability
-Improved battery life
Improvements
-Improvements to Trace dictionary
-Improvements to screen responsiveness
-Improvements to video playback
-Improvements regarding device reboot / power off
-Improvements to icon pixilation
-Improvements to Wi-Fi connection
-Improvements to screen/photo resolution
If you own an HTC Sensation 4G you might want to do a manual check if the update is ready for download by doing this: Menu > Settings > System Updates > HTC Software Update > Check Now > and hitting OK when it appears.
"The update is most likely pretty large and Wi-fi is recommended to speed up the entire process. While the update isn’t a special one the Sensation doesn’t have many issues that need fixing anyways so this is mostly maintenance as well as preparation for the unlock process. Again feel free to watch HTCDev.com/bootloaderonce you’ve accepted the update as it should appear on the site soon." - Android Community
