PHIL: Samsung announces the Galaxy Tab 10.1 & 8.9 in the Philippines

Samsung on Wednesday announced the Samsung Galaxy S II and together with the superphone they have also announced the launching of their latest, thinnest, and lightest tablet in the world in the Philippines. Yes guys we are not late. Anyway, the Galaxy Tab 10.1 will, apparently, be the first of the two (since both the 10.1 and 8.9 were announced) to arrive into Philippine shores. The Galaxy Tab 10.1 will be available in the country beginning at the end of July and will be followed by the 8.9 after a few weeks.

According to PTB, the delay of the tablet's launching in the Philippines is due to the fact that the Korean giant wants the tablets shipped already running on Android 3.1 Honeycomb which is actually a very logical and good move from them (makes things a lot easier for the buyers).

So for the pricing, Samsung really did not give the tablets an official SRP but estimated prices only. Regardless, we will still take that. So for how much? Well take not first that "for the mean time" the first batch or should I say, the first Galaxy Tab 10.1s that will be arriving in the Philippines are those with 3G connectivity in them. So for the Galaxy Tab 10.1 (with 3G) will be priced somewhere in the range of the SGS II which means Php 29,990 (and I should say this is the 16GB tablet). For the smaller 8.9 tablet, it is expected to arrive in August and will have an estimated price tag of Php 25,000 for the WiFi only version.

So there you have guys! For those who are readying themselves to buy these tablets from Samsung then these are the key things you need to remember: 10.1 with 3G connectivty - end of July for Php 29,990 & 8.9 WiFi only - August for Php 25,000 (all in estimated prices).
