When the Taiwanese company announced and unveiled to the public their latest and most powerful smartphone ever, the HTC Sensation, it was running and will be running on the latest HTC Sense UI which is version 3.0. The newer Sense compared to it's a bit older brother, Sense 2.1 which is with the HTC Desire S, has a lot of new features and whatnots from transitions, the way the UI looks, and to widgets here and there.
When HTC Sense 3.0 made it's way into the limelight, HTC said that the Android overlay will not be coming to "older" HTC devices probably because of hardware requirements. What happened afterwards? Well, HTC owners, specifically the ones who just bought HTC devices that are in no way old like the handsets announced back in Mobile World Congress 2011 (e.g. HTC Desire S). So, what did HTC do? They made things clear by tweeting.
Well, that tweet clearly made everything clear. At least some parts of the Sense 3.0 is coming to "older" HTC devices. I believe that these "aspects" that will be working with older HTC handsets, those that hardware ain't a requirement, like the App Drawer, and maybe the look of the UI?

HTC Desire HD with Sense 2.1 |
"You probably still shouldn’t expect the original Desire to get any part of Sense 3.0, if only because HTC has already started selling its successor – the Desire S. However, any high-end HTC smartphone that has been released since the Desire HD (it included) will probably see some form of Sense update in the future – version 2.2 perhaps, that will incorporate some useful aspects that Sense 3.0 has brought to the table." - Unwired View
