BlackBerry requires everyone to upgrade their BlackBerry App World client

BlackBerry, apparently, have upgraded their BlackBerry App World client. Unfortunately, not all BB users have upgraded yet. So they are now requiring all BB users who have not yet updated their BB World App client to version 2.0 or higher.

BlackBerry said that if you have tried accessing the BlackBerry App World on you smartphones and you are running on an older version of the client, you should have received this message:  “You must upgrade your client in order to continue”.

Here's how to upgrade. Either of the two will do (taken from BlackBerry).
  • Clicking “Download Now” when prompted to upgrade from the BlackBerry App World client
  • Visiting the Download BlackBerry App World page to update via desktop or mobile browser
For further information on how to upgrade head over to the BlackBerry Technical Solution Center.

What should you expect with the upgrade?
  • BlackBerry® ID account syncing
  • Carrier billing (dependent upon user region and carrier), credit card, PayPal® payment support
  • Improved navigation with Top 25 lists and enhanced application carousel
  • App barcode scanning support
  • In-app payment support
So there we have it guys! Upgrade your BlackBerry App World clients now.
