Wonder no more on when the Finnish company will start making their first Windows Phone device. When Stephen Elop announced that they are partnering with Microsoft to literally change the company's future and the burning platform, he never said when they will actually start making one.
The photo above is the first concept of their first WP7 device. And Elop himself said that they are actually making or at least starting to think about making one already. He said this to Reuters: “We’re right now, today, having people work on the first Windows Phone devices,”.
I am actually excited because I believe in the partnership. And I also believe that the Windows Phone 7 ecosystem will push the brand forward. The CEO did not disclose when we should expect the phone will be released, which is actually a debate right now in the tech world. Some would say that Nokia is expected to release their first WP7 handset in 2012 (a long time from now). But I do hope they blow all the assumptions aside and release one within this year. That would be a very good sign.
