[Local] Philippines officially gets the BlackBerry Bold 9780

The BlackBerry Bold 9780 finally made it to the Philippines. Announced and launched in the US last year, the BlackBerry Bold 9780 is apparently the successor of the Bold 9700. The handset runs on RIM's latest BB OS, the BlackBerry 6.

RIM said that the handset is available from Microwavehouse  for P24,800. However, we are still waiting for local network carriers to announce their offers of the said QWERTY smartphone to customers.

As a refresher, the Bold 9780 features BlackBerry 6 (OS), 3G support, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1, GPS with A-GPS, 2.44" (480 x 360) TFT LCD display, a 5 MP camera, 512 MB of RAM, and a 624 MHz processor.

Take note that this news came after the rumors and leaks that RIM is set to announce the next iteration of the Bold line of smartphone, the BlackBerry Bold Dakota.
