AT&T announced that starting today - January 7th (in the US) - the "popular" iPhone 3GS is now available for only $49. Of course that price will tie you up with AT&T in a 2-year contract. The price cut is for the iPhone 3GS units and not the refurbished units. Also, this will be the first time that the handset or any iPhone unit in history have become to accessible to everyone with data plans that start at $15 per month there is no denying that this is the lowest iPhone offer ever (in the US). It is also said that this is the first sign of a new pricing strategy from Apple, making their handsets ever more accessible to more and more consumers.
