Samsung unveils it's Super PLS display technology

Samsung currently have their Super AMOLED display technology which before they said is Apple's Retina display competition and it actually is. As a leader in mobile display technology Samsung just can't stop there. Although Sammy's not really moved with Apple's IPS display technology on their iPhone 4, they have developed the "evolution of IPS on smartphone" which they call the Super PLS.

PLS means Pane to Line Switching "which helps Samsung deliver some pretty spectacular viewing angles -- even better than the already stellar ones you'll find on IPS panels". The Super PLS technology improves brightness by 10% and reduces production cost of the display by 15% compared to IPS panels. Samsung is targeting to put these panels into tablets and smartphones giving those devices WXGA resolution. Samsung is expecting to mass produce these new panels by next year and they are working on 30 patents on this technology that basically means we should not expect any competition for these panels.
