Sony Ericsson Xperia Anzu X12 runs on Android 2.1 not 2.3?

I made the title of this post in a question form since previous leaks and rumors point that the handset will be running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread and this handset was also dubbed as Sony Ericsson's Android Gingerbread flagship phone.

Eldar Murzatin has an Xperia X12 in his labs and his been playing with it for a while now. We trust the guy over at Mobile-Review so we are going to take what he gets with his "playing" of the said smartphone.

He noted that the Xperia X12 is not running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread, as most and as what the first leaks and rumors tell us but instead it runs on Android 2.2 Eclair. Disappointed? Don't be because Sony Ericsson have not yet made this handset official. They can still change it until this baby right here gets launched. Amazingly though, the handset is intended to be launched in early 2011 running on Android 2.2 Froyo, almost there. The Android 2.3 will then be released on the handset as a fix after the launching of the device. Now, we really do not like it when Sony Ericsson releases updates though, talk about the Xperia X10's Android 2.2 update.
"He [Eldar] also notes a 4.3-inch display with 854 x 480 resolution (just an LCD, nothing exciting), an 800MHz Qualcomm MSM7230 (same as in the T-Mobile G2 / Desire Z) powering things inside, and a 12 megapixel imager mounted on the back." - Endgadget
