Nokia have launched two new handsets today that are both aimed for "maximum functionality for the lowest price possible", the Nokia C2-01 and the Nokia X2-01. Let's start with the smaller of the two, the C2-01.
Of the two the C2-01 is the handset that supports 3G. Nokia sets this handset to be their most inexpensive 3G phone which will allow millions of people to get the fast connectivity that the 3G offers in a very affordable price. We will be talking about the price later on though.
The handset runs on Symbian S40 series OS and features a classical alpha numeric keypad. Other features that will make you wanna buy this phone are a 3.2 MP camera, 2" screen, Music Player, FM radio, Bluetooth, and microSD card support of up to 16GB of memory.
Now the pricing and availability, the C2-01 will be sold in retail for €70 and will be available in the first quarter of 2011. The price is before local taxes, network subsidies and whatnots.
Then we have the Nokia X2-01 which is a smartphone that is aimed to be for those who loves updating their social networking accounts and to the youth and emphasis in music.
The X2-01 features a 2.4" QVGA display, FM Radio, and a VGA camera at the back, yes unfortunately VGA, Bluetooth, a 3.5mm headset jack, Music Player, 55MB of internal memory with microSD card support of up to 8GB or memory, a full QWERTY keyboard, and no WiFi.
The X2-01 will be available within this quarter of 2010 and will cost €80 before local taxes and network carrier subsidies.
