Leaked HTC Droid smartphone bound for Verizon

Photo grabbed from Unwired View

The Droid brand is almost always associated with Motorola and their Droid line, but one must not forget the HTC Droid Incredible also over at Verizon together with the Motorola Droids. Compared to Motorola, HTC only has 1 Droid with their name, the Droid Incredible, which is actually, a smartphone at par with the Motorola Droids themselves.

To give you an over view of Motorola's Droids, there are 3. The Motorola Droid X, the gigantic smartphone which runs on Android 2.1 and is getting Android 2.2 upgrades, they also have the Motorola Droid 2, with its brother, the Motorola Droid, both of which have a slide out full QWERTY keybaord to set it apart from the Droid X.

Anyway, going back to HTC and its leaked, and rumored, the successor of the HTC Droid Incredible, is an all touch smartphone, no slideout QWERTY keyboard on this baby. This will definitely be another Android phone probably running on Android 2.2 on release. But we might not know, it might run on Android 3.0 Gingerbread, well, when one describes technology, its always unpredictable. But what we can really say is that this is 80% likely to run on Android 2.2, why would HTC release it with a 2.1? and the 3.0 Gingerbread, is not yet available and devices running with it shouldn't be expected soon.

Boy Genius has received some photos of the new (and currently unnamed) HTC smartphone; the person that sent them said the device “makes the Droid 2 look like a kids toy.”

Why did they say that? Well, the smartphone will be as big as the HTC Evo 4G over at Sprint. So lets start rolling out the features and specs of this phone. 4.3 inches touchscreen display, HTC Sense UI equipped, as always. 8MP of camera which obviously comes with a LED flash plus brushed aluminum case. No mention of internal hardware specs though, lets just wait for the official announcement of this phone.
