The world's first phablet device, the Galaxy Note I has started receiving a firmware update that brings it up to par with the Galaxy Note II. Aside from bringing in some bug fixes making the device work more smoothly and perfectly, one very important feature comes with this update and that's multi-tasking. Microsoft sets October 29th the Windows Phone 8 launch day

Regardless of all the negative stuff you might have read, Microsoft has set October 29 the day they will announce their own Windows Phone 8 device. That's what their invitations are saying. What else would be they announcing anyway? A newer version of Windows Phone? I don't think so. Rumor has it that the Redmond company will be launching it's own device just like their own Windows 8 tablet, the Microsoft Surface. It would be fitting they will match that with a smartphone, just to put things at equilibrium. Judging by the looks of the Microsoft Surface, expect for a boxy and industrial design Windows Phone smartphone. So, the question is, what's it gonna be called? We'll have to wait until Oct. 29!

USA: AT&T and Sprint to offer the LG Optimus G

LG has announced that its newest Android flagship smartphone will be launched by Sprint and AT&T. Unfortunately though, these two carriers were silent about it. That means we don't have an exact date and a price point to talk about. We will just have to wait for their own announcements about the device. AT&T did announce it but did not mention dates nor pricing.

AT&T announced that the two new Windows Phone smartphones from Nokia are coming by November. All they did on their press release was introduce the devices.

USA: HTC One VX announced for AT&T HTC One X+ exclusive from AT&T

AT&T and HTC announced the HTC One VX which will be available for the US market come sometime. They have not yet announced when this device will be officially launched in the US via AT&T but it should be before the Holiday shopping spree comes. As for it's specs the One VX sports a 4.5" SLCD 2 display and runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Head over the break for more on the device's specs. For other news, the newly announced HTC One X+ will exclusively be launched and offered by AT&T in the USA. So for those who wants to get their hands on a 1.7GHz quad-core-powered smartphone from HTC, but we still do not have any dates when that is going to happen.

The HTC One X+ is HTC's most powerful smartphone to date and their first Android 4.1 JB device

HTC has announced the successor to the HTC One X smartphone. The HTC One X+ is apparently, an improved version of the One X and with that has the right to be HTC's newest Android flagship smartphone. Improved means a lot with this device because the One X+ sports a 1.7GHz nVidia Tegra 3 quad-core chipset and has the same display on it as the HTC One X. Anyway, HTC is scheduled to launch this smartphone in Europe and in Northern Asia by October and in Southern Asia come Novermber. The One X + is also HTC's first device to be running on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out from the box, so that'd be good news for all HTC fans out there.
