Facebook overhaul - officially makes the ticker permanent, news feeds layout and more!

I promise, that inside this post, there will be no comparison between these new stuffs in Facebook and what Google+ has in their own site. I will just be talking about the new things you should and/or already have on your Facebook profiles and on your Facebook Homepage. Today, Facebook have pushed to all their users (if not, then most of their users) a new overhauled Facebook site. They overhauled the homepage (top news), photos on news feeds, and the ticker. Actually there are a lot more minute changes within Facebook.

First, Facebook overhauled the news feeds. Take a look at screencaps regarding this.

You can now mark a post as a top story which helps Facebook know what kind of news you'd like to see whenever you login on your Facebook.

New posts
This is very self explanatory. This is like Twitter's where new post will show first as a notification above your news feeds telling you how many new posts are available. By clicking it, you know what happens.

Here is what my new Facebook homepage looks like. The ticker is at the top of my chatbox (see photo). Photos are displayed larger than before. If multiple photos or an album of photos are published the photos (at least 3) will be grouped in one post.

The ticker not only allows you to know what your friends are doing on Facebook but it also allows you to follow whatever they are doing by giving you the ability to see profiles, threads (comments), and whatnots. Simply hover over an activity and a windows will pop-out beside it showing you more info about that activity.

"If you have a wider screen, slide the grey bar between ticker and chat up or down to adjust how many updates you see at a time. To control who can see your updates anywhere on Facebook, including in ticker and News Feed, adjust your sharing control or apps settings." - Facebook
Here's a video summarizing or introducing more of what these new changes have:
