Sony Ericsson Txt announced - candybar messaging handset

Sony Ericsson have announced three new handsets yesterday and this will be the first I will be blogging about. Named as the Sony Ericsson Txt, is a candybar type phone that does not run on any smart OS out there, so this can't be called a smartphone. But don't be confused with the recently announced Sony Ericsson Txt Pro.

The SE Txt features a full QWERTY keyboard and the handset will be available in 4 colors (Blue, Black, White, Pink). It also sports a 2.6" TFT (240 x 320) display, a 3.2MP rear facing camera, Bluetooth, WiFi, a microUSB port, microSD card support for up to 32GB of extra storage, and a 1000 mAh battery which can theoretically power the device for up to 416hrs (standby).

The phone also comes access to Facebook and Twitter via a "friends" application pre-loaded into the phone. Sony Ericsson is scheduled to make the SE Txt available to selected markets in the 3rd quarter of 2011. With regards to pricing? No word.
