The next iteration of the Nintendo Wii - Nintendo Wii U and a new controller!

Nintendo unveiled during at E3 in Los Angeles the next iteration of their Wii, the Nintendo Wii U. The new console comes with a new controller. The controller is what makes the Wii U, I think, special. Without it, I believe, this gaming system would just be another gaming console. With Microsoft's hit Kinect, Nintendo is faced with a dilemma which urged them to think out of the box and that thinking resulted to the Wii U.

Wii U includes a controller with a 6.2" touchscreen display stuffed in the center of that big controller.  Via the controller players can do your gaming sessions and with a front facing camera, allows you to do video chat from anywhere. Amazingly, the new gaming system will be able to support or can be used with current generation accessories and software. What does that mean for Wii owners with those collection of games? Those games you have will be able to run in the new system.

"Batman: Arkham City, an Assassin's Creed game, Dirt, Ghost Recon Online, Tekken, Metro Last Light,Aliens Colonial Marines, Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge, and Darksiders II all got a mention as coming to the Wii U. Yes! EA's John Riccitiello just said the Wii U will deliver "brilliant HD graphics." Finally, the Wii is going HD!"

Wii U will be featuring new stuff like HD (1080p) video playback via HDMI, internal flash memory expandable via an SD card slot or a USB HDD, and 4 USB 2.0 slots. The Wii U can play Wii games and those proprietary optical discs which can hold up to 25GB of data (Wii U proprietary optical discs). The graphics of the games you will be soon playing in your Wii U system will be handled by a "custom AMD Radeon HD GPU".
