USA: Sprint announces the Motorola XPRT & the Motorola Titanium

Two QWERTY Android smartphones were announced by Sprint. The first one is the phone you see in the photo above. Looks familiar? That's the Motorola XPRT, Sprint's version of the Motorola Droid Pro. Like the Droid Pro the Motorola XPRT sports the Android 2.2 Froyo platform, a 3.1" HVGA touch screen display, MotoBlur UI, GPS, 3G mobile hotspot capability, a 5MP rear facing camera, and a 1GHz processor.

The Motorola Titanium is a smaller version of the XPRT with a touch screen display of only 3.1" HVGA display and runs on Android 2.1 Eclair. What sets this smartphone apart from the XPRT aside from it's size is it's ruggedness. The Titanium is “certified to Military Specification 810G for dust, shock, vibration, low pressure, solar radiation, high temperature and low temperature.” WiFi, GPS, and a 5MP rear facing camera are it's other features.

The Motorola XPRT will be made available starting June 5th. The XPRT will be priced at $129 with a 2-year contract but unfortunately for the militarized smartphone, Sprint did not say anything about it's availability and pricing so we will just have to wait for that.
