[Updated] Amazon Appstore for Android is now available for download - free Angry Birds download for newcomers

The Amazon Appstore for Android is now live and now available for download over at the Android Market. The application is currently only available in the US market so for those who live outside the US, you will have to wait for it to be released.

Amazon is also giving newcomers a chance to download Angry Birds Rio for free, and beyond the day that it is launched the game will have a price tag of $0.99. The game will be exclusively available for Android from Amazon. The Amazon Appstore boasts 3,800 app at launch.

Download or get the Amazon Appstore by heading to this url, http://amazon.com/appstore, I tried using my PC in going to that link but it redirected me to Amazon.com. Try that link and comment below if you still can't get it. Comments from Endgadget says that they have announced this prematurely.

Update: The Amazon Appstore's Facebook Page still says "Launching Soon". it still might not be officially launched confirming comments on Engadget's post. I will definitely blog when the app gets officially launched.

Update: Gizmodo posted about this and said that you can download the app via the link I shared http://amazon.com/appstore. Try using your mobile browsers first.
