Nokia released an update for Symbian on N8, C7, and C6-01

Nokia have already ditched plans for Symbian^4 and have decided that they need to have a streamlined development strategy. This will basically make the environment between Symbian and MeeGo powered Nokia devices unified. With the adoption of the Qt development process Symbian and MeeGo will become one continuously improving platform. Out with Symbian^3 and Symbian^4 just call it Symbian, and the first update goes to the Nokia N8, C7 and the C6-01.

Nokia have released version 1.1 of the "unified" Symbian development strategy. The update goes to the three devices and will improve the platform's communication. The improvements allow the user to directly accept meeting requests straight from emails while maps is also integrated to view the location of that meeting. The N8 will get new features in Quick Office 6.4 like zooming on Word documents together with three high quality games already pre-loaded in the update.

"The standard, non-customised version of the software is available from today for the Nokia C7. The software versions for the Nokia N8 and C6-01 will be available early next week. Country (SIM-free) and operator-specific variants will follow soon" - Nokia Conversations
