Sharp stops production of the Galapagos 5.5 and 10.8 Android tablets

Sharp announced that they have stopped production of the two Galapagos tablets that they first announced. The Galapagos 5.5 and 10.8 might be gone but Sharp is producing a tablet that is sized between the first two which will be a 7-inch tablet. Even if the 5.5 and 10.8 Galapagos tablets wont be available for orders, Sharp will still continue to offer eBook downloads on their store.

Sharp officially announces the Galapagos - 7" Android tablet

The Sharp Galapagos, the 7" Android tablet that Sharp is aimed to compete in the already crowded tablet market. We are still not sure which version of Android the tablet will be running on, either it be Gingerbread or Honeycomb. Anyway, the Sharp Galapagos A01SH was announced officially and should see the light of day withing "this year" (can't get any broader than that).
