Announced to the world back in February, the Blackberry Z10 will be available in the Philippines come March 19. The country's two major carriers, Smart and Globe, will both carry the said device. Globe is offering the Z10 for free at plan 1799. This is much more affordable than that of Smart's but the thing is that Globe will lock you up on that plan for 30months. You can also get the device at plan 1799 with 24months lock up commitment but that'd require you to shell out Php 4,800. Anyway, you can head over to Globe's application form (online) for the BB Z10.

PHIL: Smart and Globe will be launching the iPhone 5 come December 14
The Philippines' two surviving (technically speaking) carriers will be offering the iPhone 5 come December 14! Yup, it is probably the most awaited smartphone in 2012 and the Philippine market will finally get their share of the excitement. Smart and Globe will both be offering the device for Free if you get it with a 2-year contract under their Plan 2499. We are talking about the iPhone 5 16GB if you want to get the iPhone with a higher storage capacity, then you'd have to look beyond plan 2499 to get the device for free.

PHIL: Globe Telecom makes the Galaxy Note II available today
This was supposed to happen yesterday, but anyway, Globe has officially launched and totally made the Samsung Galaxy Note II available today or yesterday. Globe is offering the phablet for a monthly commitment of Php 1,799 with Globe's Plan 999. Get it? Php 1,799 cash + Plan 999 = Php 2,798 monthly for 2 years and you need a Php 19,200 cashout. Not that I am discouraging you but this is how local carriers do their stuff in the Philippines. Catchy if you just look at it at the P 1,799 or just the Plan 999 figures but actually the device will be free only if you get it coupled with Globe's Plan 2499. Anyway, head over to Globe's website and order your Galaxy Note II now.

PHIL: Globe and Smart to sell the Galaxy S III prepaid kit
Smart and Globe will be selling the prepaid version of the recently launched Samsung Galaxy S III. Surprisingly, though, the two carriers will be offering the said device on different prices. Globe sells the smartphone for Php 29,990 while Smart sells it for Php 31,500. The official SRP of the device is at Php 32,990. Both are selling it at a lower price than that of the SRP but one of them, apparently, sells it even lower.

PHIL: Globe and Smart starts taking pre-orders of the Samsung Galaxy S III - Globe reveals plans
As promised, both Globe and Smart have already started taking pre-orders of the Samsung Galaxy S III. They both started it yesterday (May 23) and so far, it is only Globe who has revealed the plans or postpaid plans that you can bundle with the device. Of course, by that we will know which plan will make the smartphone free. Anyway, before I go there, here are the links to the carrier's pre-order pages: Smart and Globe. By the way, Smart says that the device should start shipping by June. Globe on the other hand makes no saying on when the device will arrive.

PHIL: Globe to start taking pre-orders of the Samsung Galaxy S III starting May 23
Globe is not going to be slow when it comes to launching the Galaxy S II for sure. Smart has already announced that they will be starting to accept pre-orders of the Galaxy S II on May 23rd so what does the 2nd carrier in the country has to say about that? Well, they will also start taking pre-orders of the SGS3 on the same day. According to Globe, the smartphone will come with their very customizable plans. Unfortunately, the carrier did not mention at what plan the device will come free. Anyway, for those who wants to get the Galaxy S III over at Globe rather than via Smart, head over to this link: http://globe.com.ph/galaxys3. Currently, you really can't do anything on that page aside from looking at that beautiful photo of the phone. You might want to bookmark that page and when May 23 comes, you can then pre-order it online.

PHIL: Globe and Smart to offer the Samsung Galaxy S III but we have no dates yet
Over at Twitter, the Philippines' two network carriers have this Galaxy S III twitter war. Globe and Smart have initiated their own tweets that contain the hashtag #GlobeGalaxyS3 and #SmartGalaxyS3. Both networks have tweeted that soon or somewhere around the time the Samsung Galaxy S III is launched in the Philippines, these carriers will be offering them. We have no dates yet so we will have to wait when that actually happens. Anyway, check out some screenshots that I have from these carriers, one very interesting tweet is from Smart, who tweeted a black and white version of the Galaxy S III.

PHIL: [Update] Globe now accepts "reservation of interest" for the iPhone 4S - coming in December 16th
The wait is not yet over but at least you can now reserve your interest over at Globe. Unfortunately, this is not pre-ordering an iPhone 4S but rather a "reservation of interest". Nonetheless, I know everyone out there would want to go ahead and reserve their interest, right? So what are you waiting for? The most amazing iPhone ever to land on Earth is waiting for you here (reservation link). As a refresher, the next iteration of the iPhone sports a 1GHz Apple A5 dual-core chipset, an improved 8MP rear facing camera, and iOS 5 which comes with Siri (beta). Pricing is still not yet disclosed by Globe but if you remember how much the predecessor's price of the iPhone was when it was launched, then you'd be able to guess the range that the iPhone 4S will be priced.

PHIL: Globe CEO confirms coming of the iPhone 4S in the "next few weeks"
Globe's CEO, Ernest Cu, confirmed that his company will be carrying the next iteration of the iPhone. He said ,while in a Globe event to announce their investment in upgrading their infrastructure to IPv6, that they are silently preparing to launch the the iPhone 4S in a couple of weeks. Albeit his statement was a bit vague, because "a couple of weeks" might equate to 2 weeks or even a whole month. And while Smart is reported to be trying to do it's stuff to also carry the iPhone, Globe will surely be the first to launch the device in the Philippines.

PHIL: Samsung Galaxy S II priced in the Philippines - Php 29,990
To all the Android fans in the Philippines! Good news comes to you today! YugaTech just got word from Samsung that the Galaxy S II superphone will be carrying an SRP of, nope not 30,000 or above, but for only Php 29,990. Remember when LG launched their own dual-core smartphone in the country? They put an eye popping price of the LG Optimus 2X, right (Php 27,990)? So, that would be the price that other phone makers should try to compete with in the Philippines, like the HTC Sensation and the Galaxy S II.
