USA: Sprint's version of the Galaxy S II announced - Samsung Epic 4G Touch


Sprint is also carrying their own version of the Samsung Galaxy S II. The Samsung Epic 4G Touch, apparently the Epic 4G's successor, like the other SGS IIs announced in the US will be running on Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread. Aside from that Sprint's Epic 4G Touch will be sporting a 4.52" Super AMOLED Plus touchscreen display.

USA: T-Mobile's Samsung Galaxy S II announced


For T-Mobile's version of the Galaxy S II, it will not be much different from that of AT&T's although it carries a bit of difference when it comes to design. Little is know about this device, even after it has been unveiled, but it is basically just the Galaxy S II with the same specs as AT&T's SGS II. Also like AT&T's SGS II, this will be running on Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread out of the box. Something though is interesting with this version of the SGS II, head over the break to check what that is.

USA: Samsung officially unveils the Samsung Galaxy S II for AT&T


At Samsung's New York event yesterday (August 30th), Samsung has finally unveiled the Samsung Galaxy S II in the US! There are three and each carrier (AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint) will be getting one. This device right here is AT&T's version of the Galaxy S II, which will be called as is, the Galaxy S II. I won't keep you reading my rants, head over the break to check out the device's specs.

IND: BlackBerry Torch 9810 arrives in India for Rs. 29,749


The successor to the Torch 9800, the Torch 9810, is now available in the Indian market for Rs 29,749. Letsbuy.com is offering you the smartphone for the said price and promises to ship your devices in 5-8 business days. As a refresher the Torch 9810 is running on BlackBerry OS 7 and sports a 1.2GHz processor, 768MB of RAM, a 3.2" touchscreen display, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, 8GB of internal memory expandable up to 32GB via a microSD card, and a 1270 mAh battery.


Motorola announces the Motorola Pro+

Motorola have announced, the successor (or maybe not) to the Motorola Pro. The Motorola Pro+ combines the best of two worlds namely, the QWERTY keyboard and a touchscreen display. The smartphone is running on the latest version of Android, 2.3 Gingerbread. The smartphone is expected to be available in the Asian and the European markets in October.

UK: Motorola announces the Motorola Defy+ in the UK to arrive in September


Motorola released a press release officially announcing the arrival of the Motorola Defy+ in the British market. Motorola said that they are expecting the "life proof: Android smartphone to be available in September. With regards to the pricing of the device, Motorola did not say anything about it. Samsung Wave Y the 3rd Bada 2.0 smartphone

The last of the three Bada 2.0 smartphones that Samsung announced today, the Samsung Wave Y. The smartphone is probably the cheapest of the three (Wave 3 & Wave M) and is the Bada 2.0 with the smallest screen real-estate. Anyway, this smartphone will also be showcased during IFA 2011 in Berlin.

Samsung Wave M announced running on Bada 2.0

The next Bada 2.0 smartphone that Samsung announced today is the Samsung Wave M. The Wave M is, obviously cheaper compared to the Samsung Wave 3 which is apparently the new Bada flagship smartphone. Also, this smartphone will be showcased at the IFA 2011 in Berlin come September.

Prior to IFA 2011 in Berlin, Samsung have already announced their new Bada 2.0 powered smartphones. All of these smartphones (the Bada 2.0 powered ones and the slew of new Android devices) will all be showcased during the event. The first of the three Bada 2.0 smartphones that I will be posting is this one, the Samsung Wave 3, and does that UI look great?

USA: AT&T announced the coming of the LG Thrill 4G in September 4


AT&T's LG Thrill 4G, which is basically their version of the LG Optimus 3D, has finally been given a date when it should launched. The smartphone was announced way back in March and was kept on being delayed. Via a Tweet by AT&T, the smartphone will finally be landing on their stores when September 4th comes. At least, even if it is very delayed the phone will finally be available for sale to those who are interested.


Nokia 700 announced to be the world's smallest smartphone


Did I totally missed this or did I decide not to blog about this? Either way, the Nokia 700 was announced by the Finnish company to be the world's smallest smartphone. Also this handset runs on the latest version of the Symbian platform, the Symbian Belle, along with the Nokia 600 and the Nokia 701

Samsung intros their version of BBM - Samsung Ch@t On


With their steady growth in global market share, this news does not come as a surprise. After Apple announcing that they will be launching iMessage (the BBM competition), time is only the question when Samsung will also launch theirs. Samsung, today, have announced Ch@t On, their own version of BBM. This application will work on any platform and any device (tablet or in a smartphone) making and putting this messaging service to more people. Ch@t On is due to be showcased at IFA 2011 in Berlin.

Samsung officially announces the Galaxy S II LTE and the Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE

The Korean-giant, Samsung, have announced and made two devices official and will be added into the company's large Android smartphone and tablet portfolio. The Samsung Galaxy S II LTE and the Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE. Both devices will be showcased and will get a proper unveiling to the public during the IFA 2011 in Berlin. The specs are limited and pricing is not even mentioned in Samsung's official press release. So, we just have to be satisfied with what we have today.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 to get an LTE version and beefed up specs


Samsung, aside from the Galaxy S II LTE, will be unveiling an LTE version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9. Sammy Hub is reporting that the Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE might be unveiled when they will be unveiling the US' Galaxy S IIs come August 30th.

UK: Clove puts the Samsung Galaxy S Plus on pre-order for £385.80


Clove UK have made available for pre-order the Samsung Galaxy S Plus, the smartphone that goes in between the Galaxy S II and the Galaxy S. The Galaxy S Plus is superior to the Galaxy S but it's specs are no match for the Galaxy S II. For £385.80, which includes taxes, the price is for an unlocked/SIM-free Galaxy S Plus.

IND: Samsung announces three dual-sim phones in India - Star II Duos, Metro Duos, and the Metro 3752


Samsung have added three more dual-SIM phones in India by introducing these phones in the market. First we have the Samsung Star Duos which is a dual-SIM version from the popular Samsung Star II. It sports a 3.2" WQVGA touchscreen display, Samsung's TouchWiz UI 3.0, WiFi, Bluetooth, a 3.2MP rear facing camera, and a 1200 mAh battery plus dual-SIM standby. Price: Rs. 6,920.

Facebook will start rolling out new features in Facebook photos


Facebook in the next few days will start rolling out new things to their Photo viewer and photos that are uploaded to their site. First, Facebook will increase the size of photos you share on Facebook. Also, aside from increasing the size of photos on Facebook, they have also increased improved the loading time of them. Facebook is saying that photos (when you have these features) will load faster then before, twice as fast.

USA: The Samsung Galaxy S II for Sprint, T-Mobile, and AT&T smiles for the camera


Thanks to PocketNow, we have a family photo of the three US version of the Samsung Galaxy S II. The photo, however PocketNow acquired it, show us that Sprint's, T-Mobile's, and AT&T's SGS II are designed differently from each other, even if they don't really differ as much. Also, Verizon already confirmed that they won't be carrying the SGS II but might get a better one (SGS II LTE?). Samsung is set to host an event in New York come August 29th (postponed to August 30th)


Samsung to unveil the Galaxy S II LTE at the IFA 2011


Samsung will be hosting an event during the IFA 2011 in Berlin, one of those Unpacked events. In their video teasers Samsung says that "something big" is coming. Well, this might be one of them. The Samsung Galaxy S II LTE (remember Sammy's new naming strategy?), will be something big because it is big.



Google updates their Google+ app for Android to version 1.0.6


Google have released version 1.0.6 of the Google+ app for Android which brings in the most requested feature to the app, the "reshare" feature. RIM intros BBM Music


The Canadian company have announced BBM Music which is a cloud-based service that would allow users to discover new music that will be based by what the community (your BBM Music friends) would store 50 of their best music tracks to the cloud.

Nokia launched two feature phones - Nokia 100/101

Nokia 100
Two new feature phones from Nokia, which signifies their very vibrant presence to the masses, was launched and will be carrying the names, Nokia 100 and the Nokia 101. These two new color phones from Nokia is running on the S30 OS. Even if they both look like they are identical, they are a bit different.

Sony Ericsson announced the Xperia Neo V with Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread


Sony Ericsson have announced via a press release that all their Xperia line of smartphones that was launched in 2011 will be getting the Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread update. The latest version of Gingerbread is expected to be rolling out to the Xperia phones starting October of this year to some select markets.

UK: Motorola announces the Motorola Fire coming to the UK


Motorola have recently announced that their QWERTY-sporting and Android-powered Motorola Fire is coming to the UK by September. The Motorola Fire is like the Motorola Pro, which is also scheduled to be launched in the UK, with their full QWERTY keyboard up front and with a touchscreen display both powered by the Android platform.

IND: LG officially announces the LG Optimus 3D in India will be available in September

LG have officially made the LG Optimus 3D official in the Indian market. They have announced the availability of the smartphone which is due to be selling by next month for Rs. 37,000. The Optimus 3D is the world's first 3D capable smartphone that can display and capture 3D images and videos with the help of its dual-lens camera at the rear.


Samsung launches Bada 2.0 SDK

Samsung is not yet ditching their very own platform called the Samsung Bada OS. It has slowly but surely gain a lot of attention and recognition with the help of their Wave line of smartphones. Today, the Korean giant launched the SDK of the newest and latest version of the ecosystem, Bada 2.0.

Nokia 701 announced - the smartphone that has the brightest screen in the world


Nokia, together with the Nokia 600 (Nokia's loudest smartphone to date), have introduced another Symbian Belle device, the Nokia 701, touted to be the brightest mobile display you'll ever find in the world. The smartphone, even if it looks like the Nokia C7, this smartphone not only runs on Symbian's latest version of the platform but it also carries specs that is greater than the C7.

Nokia announces the Nokia 600 - a loud smartphone running on Symbian Belle


Nokia after unveiling the next iteration of the Symbian ecosystem, Symbian Belle, have announced their loudest smartphone ever, the Nokia 600. The Nokia 600, along side another smartphone that I will be blogging about after this post, is the first smartphone to come with Symbian Belle. Being Nokia's loudest smartphone to date, the Nokia 600 is capable to producing crisp sound from it's speakers at 106 phon.

Samsung intros four new Android Gingerbread smartphones - Galaxy W, M Pro, Y, and the Y Pro


Samsung introduced 4 new Android Gingerbread smartphones ahead of IFA 2011 in Berlin. These new smartphones will be carrying Samsung's new naming strategy. The specs we have on these smartphones are a not so much in details, but regardless of that fact, you can head over the break to check these new smartphones out.

Nokia announces Symbian Belle


After recently giving the Symbian ecosystem a new look with the launching of Symbian Anna, Nokia did not hesitate on making the platform even prettier with the new Symbian Belle. Belle, brings in addition homescreens to what Anna is giving you, 6 homescreens. Also, Symbian Belle brings in live widgets, which I believe is great for the improvement of the platform. Also, Nokia is putting, what they say, is Symbian's fastest mobile browser ever into the newest version of Symbian. Nokia phones launched with Symbian Belle in them will also sport NFC chips. I will be posting new Nokia phones running on Belle after this post. Hold on tight.


Fujitsu Toshiba is launching the world's first Windows Phone Mango smartphone in Japan - IS12T


Futjitsu Toshiba is launching the world's first smartphone running on the latest available version of Microsoft's Windows Phone platform, the Mango version. Today (August 25th) the Japanese market will get a new smartphone, the Fujitsu Toshiba IS12T which will be offered by KDDI. KDDI will be selling the smartphone for 73,500 Japanese Yen. If you want to tie it up with a 2-year contract with KDDI, then you only need to shell out 35,100 Yen.

Anyway, Samsung will now be using a new naming strategy to their smartphones which gives you an idea what market, how much, and what specs are expected to a Samsung smartphone just by it's name.

Facebook rolls out more Privacy options to users


Facebook have introduced more privacy options and control to your Profile and more. I still don't have these features added into my Facebook profile so here goes. Facebook will improve (when you get these updates) on your Facebook on your Profile and When you share stuff on your wall. Basically this is given you more control on privacy and to who gets to see your updates and whatnots. Head over the break and I'll try to explain what these are in more detail because this is a major improvement to the networking site.


UK: Vodafone UK rolls out HTC Sensation's Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread update


Vodafone UK's HTC Sensation have started to receive the Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread update which brings in a few performance enhancement to the smartphone running with it. Vodafone UK is making the update available OTA so if you own an HTC Sensation and is with Vodafone UK, you probably get a notification about a new software available for update.


UK: Three announces the BlackBerry Curve 9360 to be coming soon


Three UK, probably the first British carrier to announce that they will be offering the new BlackBerry Curve 9360. Along side the BlackBerry Torch 9810 and the BlackBerry Bold Touch 9900, Three UK have also put the Curve 9360 on their coming soon page. Apparently, BlackBerry is on a role, unveiling a slew of smartphones that truly is an improvement from what they succeed. For now though, Three UK is still unable to give us the exact date when they will actually start selling the Curve 9360, but rest assured ill be blogging about it whent he smartphone becomes available on Three and also in the UK.


US' Samsung Galaxy S II gets teased and is coming soon


Samsung is set to drop a big announcement in the US come August 29th in New Yorck City, which is believed to be no other than the announcement of the US' version of the most awaited Samsung Galaxy S II. Today, though, Samsung Mobile USA has a video that, I believe most if not all Android fans out there will truly enjoy and get that excitement up and running. Head over the break to check it out.

Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet now for sale will ship in August 29


The Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet was announced back in July, have given a launch date, and have finally made it available for sale. The Lenovo ThinkPad is an Android Honeycomb powered slate with 10.1" of touchscreen display real estate. Lenovo is making it available starting today and is expected to ship when August 29 comes. The China-based company is putting a tag price for the 16GB WiFi only variant of the tablet at $499. For the other variants: 32GB WiFi +3G is priced at $569 and the 64GB WiFi + 3G at $669.

USA: Sprint to launch the BlackBerry Curve 9350 in September 9 for $49.99


As of now, Sprint is the first US carrier to announce the launching of the newest member to the BlackBerry smartphone family. The BlackBerry Curve 9350 will start selling over at Sprint come September 9 for only $79.99 with a 2-year contract. RIM officially intros the BlackBerry Curve 9350/9360/9370


RIM completes their 2011 line up with the announcement of the BlackBerry Curve 9350 (other model numbers: 9360 & 9370). The Curve 9350 will apparently succeed over the Curve 9300. The smartphone will come with an NFC chip inside and is designed with sexiness while keeping that true "Curve" feel intact.

Acer Iconia Tab A500 (or A501) gets Android 3.2 Honeycomb update


The Acer Iconia Tab A500 or the A501 is reported to have started receiving the Android 3.2 Honeycomb update in Poland. Android 3.2 Honeycomb is expected to bring in a lot of performance enhancement into the OS and security and bug fixes. The update is also expected to be coming via OTA, so a notification will inform you if it is ready for your device.

UK: Clove puts the Motorola Pro on pre-order after a very long wait


The Motorola Pro is yet to be available in the British market. Announced a long time ago, the QWERTY keyboard packing Motorola Pro, is now available on pre-order over at Clove for £420 unlocked, SIM-free, and VAT inclusive. The smartphone is still in a very good position to be selling in the said market because it carries a unique form factor to most Android smartphones. So, who's buying the Pro?


Google Chrome updated to 13.0.782.215 brings in security and bug fixes


The title says it all. Google released an update to their browser which ups the browser's version number to 13.0.782.215. Basically the update does not bring in anything fancy aside from security and bug fixes. Of course, an update will not be there if it ain't important. If you want to get those security updates and bug fixes, then update your Google Chromes now.

USA: MetroPCS launches the Samsung Admire


MetroPCS have started selling the Samsung Admire which was leaked a while back. The smartphone runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread and sports a 3.5" touchscreen display, an 800MHz processor, and a 3.2MP rear facing camera. The carrier is offering the smartphone for $129.00. You might want to check MetroPCS' website to check out their plans that you can tie with the Samsung Admire.

IND: Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro now available for pre-order in India

The first Android smartphone that Sony Ericsson announced in 2011, the Xperia Mini Pro, is now available for pre-order in the Indian market. The little smartphone that packs a punch is already available in the UK. The Xperia Mini Pro is being offered for pre-orders in India by two retailers, LetsBuy and Flipkart. Letsbuy is offering the Mini Pro for Rs. 13,139 and Flipkart is offering it for Rs. 12,990.

Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman announced


Sony Ericsson have announced a new Android powered smartphone with a Walkman touch to it. The Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman will be added and will be a new member to Sony Ericsson's popular Walkman series of phones after announcing the Xperia X8 inspired Walkman phone.

USA: Sprint launches the Samsung Conquer 4G for $99.99


Sprint officially makes the Samsung Conquer 4G available for only $99.99 on a 2-year contract. They announced this smartphone to become available today (August 21st) and that is on time and on schedule. As a refresher, the Conquer 4G wll apparently be added into Sprint's 4G capable smartphone portfolio and is running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread. The smartphone sports a 1GHz single-core processor, a3.5" touchscreen display, WiFi, Bluetooth, a 3.2MP rear facing camera, GPS, and up to 32GB of storage via a microSD card. LG officially announces the LG Optimus Sol


LG via a press release officially unveils and took the curtain off their newest Android device, the LG Optimus Sol. I just posted about this smartphone with it's press photos leaked then LG took no time announcing it, maybe they just waited for me to blog about it?

USA: AT&T now starts selling the BlackBerry Torch 9810 for $49.99


AT&T will be exclusively offering the beefed up BlackBerry Torch 9810. The successor to the Torch 9800, will feature a 1.2GHz processor, BlackBerry OS 7, 768MB of RAM, a 3.2" VGA (640x480) touchscreen display, and a 5MP rear facing camera. Although the Torch 9810 looks much like just the Torch 9800, it definitely does not share the same innards as it's predecessor. For those who wants to get this BB OS 7 powered BlackBerry smartphone, then head over to AT&T and get it for only $49.99.
