USA: Motorola Droid X Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread update now available

The Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread update for the Verizon Droid X by Motorola is now available, officially. DroidLife discovered this, regardless of the fact that you were not included or lucky enough to be included in the Gingerbread soak test that Motorola did to their users. If you are running on stock Android 2.2 Froyo on your Droid X with MotoBlur 2.3.340 then you can "pull" the update and upgrade your devices now. Do Menu>Settings>About phone>System updates. DroidLife is saying that the update should be waiting fro you.

PS: For the Motorola Droid Pro owners, you might want to check out this post also by DroidLife.

USA: The Motorola Droid X is officially getting Gingerbread starting May 27th

Updates are important even if they come a bit late and even if I have not blogged much about the Motorola Droid X. The update that the Moto Droid X will be receiving starting this Friday (May 27) is software version 4.5.596 which brings in Android 2.3 Gingerbread into the device. For those who owns the device and does not want the Droid X2 which was recently launched, then this is really good news for all of you.
