Nokia, in partnership with Monster, unveiled the Nokia Purity HD Stereo headsets. These headsets are apparently made together with Monster. Probably, Nokia saw what HTC and Beats Audio was up to and decided to get Monster in. Anyway, the Nokia Purity line of headsets include all of the headsets you see in the photos in this post, in-ears and headsets you put on your head like headbands.

Western Digital to acquire Hitachi GST for $4.3 billion

Western Digital, a company known for producing hard drives and storage solution devices, have announced that they will be acquiring one of their competition, Hitachi Global Storage Technologies, for $4.3 billion. Back in 2005 Seagate acquired Maxtor for $2 billion, so this is not something that is new to the HDD industry. Endgadget points that it's hard to say what this acquisition will mean with regards to pricing and competition. We will have to see what the future lies then.

[Update] Microsoft reports 2.5 million units of Kinect sold

The day Microsoft started selling their Kinect for the XBox 360, it was already in competition with Nintendo's Wii, and Sony's PlayStation Move. While Nintendo had it's share of success with it's Wii they are still selling and not a dollar is cut by Nintendo for the Wii. Sony, on the other hand, reported they have sold 2.5 million units of the PlayStation Move, which is basically a direct competition they have put head to head with Nintendo's Wii (minus the console). With the XBox on their shoulders, Microsoft is not keen on stopping their development with it. Hence, Kinect which removes the need of those controllers all together.

Bang & Olufsen BeoSound 8 iPad, iPhone, iPod dock is heaven

Bang & Olufsen BeoSound 8 Photos
Bang & Olufsen is here with their new BeoSound 8 iPad, iPhone, and iPod dock. That's a first, I think, for an iPad to get this eye candy of a dock. This is your kind of dock when you decide to keep your music files in your iPad rather than your other iDevices around. We don't have any info for the price yet but expect this dock to be quite expensive, though. It will be available "later this month" at B&O outlets near you.

Update: The system is priced for $999

JBL announced the release of their On Stage iconic docking stations

JBL On Stage IV

And then the space ship docks on to its station for it will have to play music all night long. JBL, a leader when it comes to speaker technology and apparently on docking stations, released their latest iconic stations, with all the twisted parts of it all. The JBL On Stage IV and the On Stage Micro III. They look just like one another, they're like mirror images of each other. But the names says it all.

The JBL On Stage IV uses 4 Odyssey transducers, the thing that converts energy into something else, has the capability of giving you rich and clear sound. It comes with an AC adapter so that you can use it all night long, or if you want you can feed it with  six AA batteries that can give life to the dock up to 16 hours of none stop music playing, well JBL added "on normal play".

Seagates unleashes the world's first 1.5TB External HD

Seagate a leader in the hard disk industry, has released the world's first 1.5 TG (terrabyte) external hard disk drive with 3.0 USB connectivity. The manufacturer's suggested retail price for the peripheral device is at $250. Expensive, I agree, but hey its 1.5TB. To give you all a picture of how large that storage capacity is. Imagine that your computer has 500GB of HD space and when you wake up tomorrow it magically turned into a 1.5TB HD. Then you'd have to multiply your old 500GB by three to get the old HD at par with the current 1.5TB space.

If you love downloading tons and tons of digital media like music, photos, videos and what ever you can think of. then this portable HD is great for you, or at least consider it as an option.

HP Envy 100 TouchSmart printer

The HP Envy branded printer with HP's TouchSmart 3.7inch touch screen display.

Did HP create a printer? The 3.45 inch display does not only have the option for printing your documents and what not, but it is also capable for games, apps, and scanning documents. It has a CD like paper try that opens and closes when you want to put paper in it, making the printer sleek and professional looking.

Now, I think, that's one of a kind. Anyway CNET said that it will start to ship on October 4 for $249.

AIDACASE KeyCase Folio Deluxe turns your iPad into a leather wrapped netbook

After Apple announced the iOS 4.2 which included a bluetooth keyboard support, the tech blogging world was expecting more and more bluetooth keyboards to hit the market but as what my source said, not as many is being sold right now and most of them are not good at all. But this AidACase KeyCase Folio which, by the way, is made of leather, making you, carrying this case and your iPad inside it look smart.

Anyway, Endgadget has released its review for this KeyCase Folio and said that the keyboard actually have great features but unfortunately the keyboard itself is like a carved rubber, meaning everything is of rubber and I do not know about you but typing on a rubber keyboard feels very different from the common keyboard that most of us are used to type on. But anyway this case and the keyboard\s functionality is really cool. It has a home button built into the keyboard so that you do not have to press on the home button on the iPad, which actually sits pretty neat in front of the case, everytime you want to access the multi-tasking feature and going to the homepage of the iPad. iOS 4.2 is not yet ready for download, at least for the stable version of it, but the Beta is already out and ready to be scrutinized.

Microsoft officially announces Arc Touch Mouse

Photo grabbed from Boy Genius Report

Remember this? I think, its Microsoft's answer to Apple's Magic Track Pad, that I have not blogged about. Anyway, Steve said that the track pad will mark the end of the mouse, an age old technology, that until now, I can say 90% or more of us PC users still use. Even you, are using it right now, aren't you?

Anyway, Microsoft finally cuts the rumors short by announcing the device. Its a mouse that can literally be flattened for travelling ease and can be curved up for comfortable use. It also features a scrolling center track pad. Now, isn't that sneaky for Microsoft? Anyway, its wireless and will cost you $69.99 and will be available for Microsoft based computers on December.

Samsung Galaxy Tab gets accessories

Photo grabbed from Endgadget

The Samsung Galaxy Tab gets what it really needs. Accessories for the tablet is found on one of the many web portals of Samsung. The accessories you can buy, when the device get officially launched and will be sold to the market, are pretty much useful. One of them is the cool leather case that you can get for the device. But what really pulled my eyes with those peripherals is the keyboard with a dock. it will magically transform you Galaxy Tab into a portable desktop, cool. The device will also have the dock the one on the farthest left will also charge the device when it is docked onto it. It also features an HDMI port at the back of the dock which allows you to watch HD movies on your HD Tv.

Pricing? I cant seem to verify if this is an official photo but my source has these numbers. The charging/HDMI port dock is at $89 and the keyboard, not to mention its very sleek design, will be $105 and finally the leather case at $52.
