Facebook announces the Subscribe button

Whenever Facebook announces something new coming to their site, I can never stop but compare it with Google+. In my own opinion, Facebook is becoming more like Google+ every time they push a new feature. Today, Facebook announced a new feature that should be in your Facebook profiles soon, I already have this but I have not really tried to discover it yet, it is called the "subscribe button".

The subscribe button allows you to:
  • Choose what you see from people in News Feed
  • Hear from people, even if you're not friends
  • Let people hear from you, even if you're not friends
Comparing this to Google+, it is basically G+'s circles, isn't it? But Facebook included something that will make this better than that of Google's.
"Choose What You See in News Feed
You're already getting your friends' posts in News Feed. With the Subscribed button, you can choose how much you see from them:

All updates: Everything your friend posts
Most updates: The amount you'd normally see
Important updates only: Just highlights, like a new job or move"
Also, like what you see in the first photo above, this allows you to choose what type of update you want t see from a person you have subscribed on. Whether you only want to see photo updates from them or just their status posts.

This will only work for posts that are publicly visible, so if you want to subscribe to someone that is not your friend on Facebook, only those post which he or she marked as public will be visible.

Head over to Facebook's Subscription page to let people starting subscribing on your posts.
